In this instance, we are on the lookout for a/an Construction Manager

Location: 

📍Sines, Potugal

Work Modality:

🏭 On-site model 

Responsibilities:

🔸 Responsible for comprehensively coordinating and supervising all construction activities on-site, ensuring execution in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, as well as within the established schedule and budget.

🔸 Coordination with clients and among subcontractors.

🔸Implementation and enforcement of the Site HSE Plan.

🔸Ensuring workplace safety, including that of subcontractors.

🔸Management of construction managers and superintendents.

🔸Updating and overseeing the mobilization/demobilization plan.

🔸Ensuring compliance with the site supervision budget.

🔸Providing advice to the site team on construction-related matters.

🔸Coordination with various roles, such as site manager, project controls, field engineering, materials, HSE, and quality.

🔸Ensuring work is completed according to the established schedule.

🔸Participation in the review and adjustment of the construction schedule.

🔸Development of strategies and corrective actions to maintain progress according to plan.

🔸Leading kickoff and progress meetings with subcontractors.

🔸Approval of financial statements and justifications for additional work.

🔸Review and approval of subcontract reports and amendments.

🔸Initiation and verification of final payments.

🔸 Coordination of the support team, including Schedule Control, Field Engineering, Quality Management, HSE, and Subcontracts.

🔸Coordination with the Logistics and Materials Manager to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

🔸Ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and local regulations.

🔸Supervision of inspections and testing, review of non-conformance reports and modification requests.

🔸Keeping the Site Manager informed of major events.

🔸Coordination with the Project Controls Manager for the issuance of weekly and monthly site progress reports.

Requirements:

🔺University degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

🔺 Previous experience in construction management roles.

🔺 Previous experience in the construction of industrial facilities, preferably in refineries, petrochemical plants, or energy projects.

🔺 Knowledge of construction regulations and local building codes.

🔺 Strong leadership and team management skills.

🔺 Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

🔺 Experience in budget management and project scheduling.

🔺 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

🔺 Ability to present reports and updates to teams and clients.

🔺Capability to efficiently address and resolve issues during construction.

🔺Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements.

🔺Experience in contract management and coordination with subcontractors.

🔺Ability to review and negotiate contractual terms.

🔺Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools.

🔺Fluent in English.
